Jorge Tacla pintor chileno radicado en Nueva York

        CHILENOS EN EL EXTRANJERO

Jorge Tacla  estudió en la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile entre los años 1976 y 1979. Trabaja en Nueva York desde 1981.

Ha participado en más de 400 exposiciones individuales y colectivas alrededor del mundo. En relación a su obra, existen más de 600 artículos y textos. Ha sido catalogado como uno de los artistas contemporáneos chilenos con mayor presencia internacional.

Su obra está presente en importantes colecciones públicas y privadas. Entre los premios que ha recibido destacan el “John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship” 1988 y el “New York Foundation for the Art” (19

87 y 1991). Profesor de Seminario Internacional.

El mundo de Tacla está lleno de sitios en escombros, lugares históricos que involucran la pérdida y el nacimiento humanos en todos los niveles. El proceso cerebral del artista analiza mediante la incorporación de señaléticas, sucesos que como en la serie "Ciclo de Nitrógeno", determinan una época y millones de vidas humanas y no se detiene en el puro relato histórico.

Tacla se acerca a la ruina y los escombros con la intención de extraer lo revelador, lo trascendente, una vertiente cultivada también por el maestro alemán Anselm Kiefer.

 

Durante la década del ’90 fue galardonado en múltiples ocasiones.

Tacla plantea la permanencia de la pintura tradicional, liberada de prejuicios y discursos teóricos. Ha evolucionado desde imágenes que tenían como referente la música y cultura afro-latina e indígena americana, a una pintura neoexpresionista, netamente paisajística y urbana, donde sobresalen la fuerza, el oficio y complejidad.

 

Generalmente realiza obras de gran formato utilizando medios como el óleo y el acrílico sobre tela, yute y papel, incorporando también elementos de la gráfica, con lo que evidencia un sólido dominio del dibujo, dotando siempre a su obra de fuertes colores expresivos, cosas que se adecuan como soporte a la gran gestualidad que plasma en cada trazo que conforma todos y cada uno de sus trabajos.

¿Cuál es su motivación por el arte y en qué medida cree que esta área o asignatura tiene valor dentro de las escuelas como aporte a  la enseñanza integral de los alumnos?

Respuesta Jorge Tacla

Mi motivación por el arte esta directamente relacionada con la expresión, crear un lenguaje, un espacio de reflexión, los conflictos, la belleza y la capacidad subversiva del quehacer artístico.
El aporte de esta área en las escuelas es fundamental ya que ayuda a entender la evolución de la sociedad a aceptar las diferencias a cuestionar la injusticia a admirar la belleza, y denunciar los conflictos.
